The Ironchild Project
For many weekends, our father brought us to Chicago where he spent time training for an Ironman competition. By way of his training, we heard staggering heartbreaking stories of grade schoolers left unattended each day after school. With too many idle hours, many kids ran the streets, learned risky behaviors, became statistics.
We created the Ironchild Project to keep at-risk kids off the street during the most vulnerable hours, participating in specialized triathlon activities. The Ansari Lionman Foundation provides funding to work with kids age 6-9, training them to compete in triathlons.
